Africana Literati is a magazine show focusing on African literature and literacy through tutorials, reviews, countdown and interviews. Watch episodes from Season 2 every day on Mindset (DStv ch.319) at 8: 30 PM (CAT) | 7: 30 PM (WAT) | 9: 30 PM (EAT).

Africana Literati is a magazine show focusing on African literature and literacy through tutorials, reviews, countdown and interviews. It is hosted by Isabella Akinseye who anchors the ‘Back to School segment’ where she teaches literacy (spelling and pronunciation). With the tag line of ‘Love Africa, Read Africa,’ resident culture critic, Dr. Wilfred Okiche reviews a book by an African author on each episode while field presenter, Harri Obi hosts the vox pop segment. Each episode also features an Afro centric top 5 countdown, an African proverb and a giveaway to inspire viewers to get creative with their writing. In season 3, an interview segment was introduced where Isabella chatted with authors, publishers and literary enthusiasts.


Meet our hosts



Isabella Akinseye is a media entrepreneur and educationist. She is the writer, producer and host of Africana Literati. She anchors ‘Back To School’, ‘Fan Connect,’ ‘Book Club’ and interview segments. She’s got a smile for days.



Wilfred Okiche is a medical doctor by day and a culture critic by night. He is the host of the ‘Africana Literati Book Review’ segment where he dissects a book by an African writer. He holds nothing back, so go ahead and send him your book.



Harri Obi is an On Air Personality, compere and producer. He presents the vox pop segment ‘Africana Literati On The Street’ where he gets people talking on topical issues in art, book and culture. He’s funny, friendly and opinionated.
