Quramo Publishing, in partnership with CORA and Goethe Institut, is hosting the 2016 LABAF Publishers Forum. The event will take place on November 10, 2016 at City Hall, Catholic Missions Street, Lagos Island from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Africana Literati host, Isabella Akinseye will moderate a panel themed: Increasing Visibility: Getting Concessions From Traditional Media at 12: 50 PM. On the panel are Mazi Chiagozie, Managing Editor, Olisa TV; Kunle Kasumu, Presenter/Co-Producer, Channels Book Club Show and Ayo Arowolo, Chief of Staff, Thisday Newspaper.

The Publishers’ Forum can be described as a ‘focus group’ or a strategy session with key facilitators as a guide. The forum is targeted at principals of publishing houses who seek to grow their market and are willing to engage in creative thinking towards identifying strategies that can make this possible as a collective or through their individual operations. The expected outcomes are clear strategies which can be immediately implemented or could be built upon in future.

Pierre Cherruau will speak at the first session, ‘Digital Publishing Right: What It Takes?’ Sebastian Doubinsky will speak on ‘Digital Distribution: From Content to Market.’ The final session of the day ‘Nurturing Editorial Talent: Raising Standards And Continuous Education’ will be moderated by Adebola Rayo, writer, editor and founder of Arty Living.

The Lagos Book & Art Festival is a comprehensive, four-day programme of events; readings, conversations around books, art and craft displays, kiddies’ art workshops and reading sessions, book exhibitions, live music and dance. It will run from November 11th to 14th at Freedom Park, 1 Hospital Road, (Old Broad Street Prison site) Lagos Island.
