The maiden edition of Comics and Cocktails held on Saturday, the 10th of December 2016 at the BLD Rooftop in Lekki, Lagos
The event kicked off with cocktails, networking segments and anime exchange. This was followed by a special segment called, ‘On the Couch with Comic Republic’ where guests were able to interact with the organisers. Stanley Stanch Obende, Xavier Ighorodje, Tobe and Ozo Ezeogu, Akintoba Kalejaye and Jide Martin gave details about their comic book titles and answered questions from the audience.
The comic books which were available in print for the very first time were sold out shortly after the event kicked off. Guests also took pictures with the life-sized cut outs of the Comic Republic superheroes.
Gracing the occasion were Elvis Okpaleke, Tseyi Hammond, Bryan Okwara, Raphael M, Realtor, Yemi Fernadez and Leslie Gumut. Others include Chris Oyesanmi, Oluwatosin Olaseinde, Ibrahim Ganiyu, Peter Amadi, Peter Daniel, Collyde Prime and Chuko Esiri.
