The award-winning poet, writer, and performer, Titilope Sonuga’s new poetry collection ‘This Is How We Disappear’ has been published by Write Bloody North and released on April 26, 2019.
This is her third collection after her spoken word album Mother Tongue was released in 2013 followed by a second collection of poetry, Abscess, in 2014.
The new collection, This Is How We Disappear is an exploration of the physical and emotional disappearance of women and a celebration of the magic of shape-shifting as an act of survival too.
The poems sit in conversation with each other in a way that highlights how women survive and thrive in spite of the obstacles often stacked against them. The collection is about our small and large acts of resistance, how we choose life, how we are the architects of our own joy even in the face of death.
You can get copies of the collection from her publishers or on Amazon.
